The web log or “blog” was invented in February of 1996 by Michael Koppelman. Here is a link to the first blog post ever in the history of mankind.

I dunno, I am friends with the guy who coined the word “blog”, and I work on the team that makes Movable Type, and I can’t grant you credit for this. Not that you don’t deserve it, but mostly because I own the maxi-single for “Go Go Dancer” and your name is on the credits, and that means we have to punish you somehow.
