    I have not read the link yet, I will soon.
    As an astronomer do you believe there are other “earth like” planets out there? I mean, even though we can’t see them we believe that they are there??

    I would guess the answer is yes, because people are looking for them?

    Yes, I’m sure they exist, just based on sheer probabilities. We’ve found so many planets now of various sizes and compositions that they seem to be quite common. So the processes that created Earth very likely occurred elsewhere as well.

    I also personally believe that we will eventually find proof of life outside of our solar system, probably in the form of detection of organic molecules in spectra or something like that. That is going to be a very big day.
