As much as I /really/ don&#039;t want Obama elected president (though I do tend to have a great deal of respect for him as a relatively thoughtful, well-spoken, well-intentioned individual), I will be /furiously/ pissed off if we elect this fucking moron.

Having been a delegate for Ron Paul in the senate district, congressional district, and state GOP conventions, I had to be exposed to toxic levels the sheer idiocy of the GOP.  Throughout all of these events, I met precious few actual supporters of John McCain, but repeatedly, without falter, without question, with fevered religious zeal, I was told that we just /had/ to throw all of our support behind John McCain to keep Satan-incarnate out of the White House.  

This is what the Republicrat system has given us.  We&#039;re fucking screwed.  And we have nobody to blame but ourselves for every time we didn&#039;t crowd around the capitol buildings and throw batteries every time they signed another Patriot Act, FISA bill, Housing bill, Farm bill, DMCA, and every other piece of illegal, unconstitutional tripe these philistines continue to spew forth. 

The list of charges against King George citied in the Declaration of Independence and which was the justification for revolution is beginning to look petty and trivial.

Now if it is truly a matter of the health of the mother, I&#039;m all for aborting the &quot;potential&quot; human to save the fully realized human. That&#039;s just the way I see it.

Now I&#039;m not going to burn down abortion clinics, or badmouth any woman who makes that difficult decision, because this is only my opinion. I see it as murder, if someone else does not, it is not my place to dictate their morality.

McCain is actually closer to your view of climate change than he is to mine.

The ROI on spaced based weapons is always going to be zero until that day you need them, which I fear is coming. Other powers are actively pursuing them. I&#039;d rather us be first to it than anyone. I still believe we are the good guys for the most part. Put a fucking giant laser on the moon as far as I&#039;m concerned. Just make it be our fucking giant laser. 

On #5, your right, I am extremely disappointed with the current administrations monetary policy and there is evidence that the economy in general does better under Democratic presidents. I don&#039;t know enough about it to understand all the reasons that might be so.  I just don&#039;t see Obama fixing it, frankly I don&#039;t see McCain fixing it either but I&#039;m more worried about security and the supreme court than any other issue and when I think about the justices that Obama would appoint, a little pee comes out. ;)</description>

3. I actually agree somewhat with Bush and McCain on immigration but the Right hates both Bush and McCain on immigration. I fear they will force McCain to agree with them. There is a funny fact out there that if the Right had their way on immigration it would absolutely kill our economy.

4. The ROI on space-based weapons has been zero. Reagan gave billions to his rich buddies based on that way of thinking. I agree, we should be the leader in military technology, but we need to prioritize and space-based weapons should not be a priority. Not to mention that we could (but never do) set an example of restraint in matters like this.

5. As a friend of mine said, if Republicans want to keep living like Republicans they are going to have to elect a Democrat soon. It&#039;s a fact that Democrats put the government in a better financial position when they are president and Republicans put it in a worse financial position. They spend just as much but collect much less. Right now oil is high, the dollar low, inflation is going up, unemployment is up. No one agrees with you on the Bush economy. You think Obama will be worse but don&#039;t know that. We know what Bush did.

It will never cease to amaze me how people lucky enough to pay on capital gains bitch the most about taxes. Yup, the tax burden on the rich will be modestly higher under Obama. I see that as a good thing.</description>

As far as issues, let me try it this way...

1. I think abortion is murder. I&#039;ve gone around and around on this. I am not particularly religious, but I think the spark of life begins at the moment of conception and anything that snuffs it out artificially is killing a living thing.

2. There is a risk of greenhouse gasses causing climate change. I do not believe there is absolute proof that this has occurred. I think it is common sense to not pollute and to live as &quot;greenly&quot; as possible. I do think that SOME use this issue to scare people and to promote an agenda. I think that people can agree to work towards alternate energy sources no matter WHY hey believe that needs to happen.

3. Immigration. We need to crack down on employers that hire illegals and enforce the laws that are on the books. We are a nation of laws and laws should be enforced o changed. It is illegal to come into this country without documentation. Lots of fine, talented people are waiting in line for the privilege. It is unconscionable to me to let people in and give them all kinds of benefits. I value my American Citizenship very much and I don&#039;t think it should be handed out to people who break the law to get into this country. Enforcing laws will cause, and is causing self-deportation. Having said all of the above, we need to develop a sane guest worker policy to let all those people come in and work legally.

4. I hate war, I wish there were no war. The reality is this is still a world ruled by force and aggression. Sometimes you have to fight a war to prevent larger conflicts and injustice. Just look at Russia. I absolutely fear the shrinking of our military might and the stupid position of Obama to not pursue space-based weapons. If we don&#039;t, others will. Whoever owns the high ground wins. Do you want China to have space-based weapons? Do you want Russia to have them? Do you want Iran to have them? They are ALL working on them. We should have the biggest, most bad-ass military on the planet. Not because we want to use it, but because we don&#039;t want to use it. The USA is not perfect but we are the most benevolent super power to ever grace the earth and thank God for that.

5. The economy? Obama&#039;s stated policies would be a disaster for the economy at this juncture. The fact is that despite all the chicken little comments by the media, the economy has continually grown under this administration despite many factors working against it. We are yet to go into a recession. Are there problems? Yes, but our economy is strong enough to handle those problems.</description>

But for now I would be happy if we had a chief executive that agreed with me on these issues so that things at least leaned slightly in the right direction.

If we could get instant run-off voting in place we would have a chance to get really interesting 3rd party candidates. I hate the 2-party system.</description>

What I find funny is that the people who are drinking from the Obama Kool-Aid are the same as those who religiously buy, and keep on buying, PCs knowing the serious flaws that exist but they&#039;ve  been brainwashed to think it&#039;s what&#039;s best for them and because Linux isn&#039;t mainstream they dismiss it to easily.

If elected, Obama will raise taxes, won&#039;t be able to do anything for the oil crisis and won&#039;t bring about world peace.  Why?? So many of the voting Americans will never compromise or open their minds to new ways of thinking to bring about the real change we need. 

What I also think is funny is that people are applauding how the Obama campaign is getting new peopel to register and laud him as being innovative, yet they chastise Jesse Ventura for doing the same thing to win the governorship years ago.</description>
