Installed

Went out to my observatory to install the new scope and mount on Saturday night (last night) and forgot my toolbox with all the bolts I needed! I was very unhappy about that. Went back tonight and got it installed. It was even clear enough to get polar aligned and get some data on a few stars (Mrk 421 and GSC 3047-176). The new mount is awesome and tracks and guides way better than my previous mount. The longest unguided test I did was 3 minutes and the stars still looked nice and round.

My first engineering run with the new gear went very well. The pointing was not perfect -- it was off by a half of a field of view or so. This indicates bad polar alignment, which makes sense because it was pretty quick and dirty. I am very happy, though, that the new rig is online.
