Above is a new prediction for this star. Instead of the 0.737 period that we tested yesterday, the above phase plot is phased to a period of 0.655 days. This new prediction fits all the past data so we have to see how well it predicts future data. Our prediction from yesterday failed miserably. The new prediction for tonight at 9:30pm local time (or JD=2453852.60417) is phase=0.30. which corresponds to a brightness of V=12.79. Let’s see how we do!
At HJD=2453852.60443 the brightness is V=12.77! This is within errors of our prediction! I think the ephemeris in the plot above is probably mostly correct. We will certainly refine the period to more decimal places. The above period is +/- about 2 minutes. We should be able to nail that down to a few seconds.
